The video and some of the music reminds me of Autechre and Mouse on Mars. Very cool.

oh and the sound bit at 0:42-0:48 reminds me of that NBC three note chime...not like you really wanted to hear that though ha.

Cool bass line in there EA. What did you play? Or was it key bass?

Neato!

Love it

matt- i played it on a p bass but, knowing folks listen with their teeny computer speakers, i followed the bass with a square wave to resolve the bass line above 90 hz or so.

Very cool Eric, thanks! By the way I just picked up a very cool bass multi-effects processor by digitech (BP 355) -it's got some very cool sounds and effects. slightly limited, but a real fun toy to mess around with on bass ideas.

You seem like you'd do well scoring a film or a short... I really liked how you interpreted the nuances of the nasa video.

Hey Eric,

Just dropping by after not picking up your blog for several months now for some reason... not sure why... oh yeah was looking for work... all caught up now.

Regardless, thanks for keeping it going, thanks for posting some of your music ideas, I'll always find your work and your process very interesting and inspirational for myself and my band. Looking forward to your next album.

Eric,

Any chance you could write a quick blog update regarding where you're at with the album? Those of us who abhor Twitter would be thankful.

Random, but I just listened to Sun's gone and it made my day. Really classic song, I especially loved the acoustic version on Dave's show.

Happy New Year Eric Avery and friends.
I have long been wondering if you were saved and going to heaven after you die? I felt the urge to share this with you, friend.
Some have an idea that at judgement God is going to weigh our good works against our bad works. If the good outweighs the bad, He is going to allow us into heaven but if the bad outweighs the good he will condemn us to Hell. However that teaching is not in the Bible. The Bible teaches we are already condemned. According to what God has said, I am a sinner, my sins demand a payment, and that payment is death...eternal death in the lake of fire. This is not a sentence that is going to be given me. It is a sentence I am already under if I'm not trusting Jesus Christ as my saviour. The person who is not trusting in Jesus for salvation is waiting only for his heart to stop beating; and the moment it does the soul and spirit leave the body and go immediately to Hell. The rich man in Luke 16:22,23 "also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes and was in torment."
Now that leaves us in a bad predicament but there is a bright side to the story.
Its not religion that saves a man but faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

You and Mr. Farrell and Mr. Perkins have a lot in common. You guys possess a fair amount of talent but forgot the method that enables you to use it to the full extent.

Mr. Avery: you compose without making the bass lines essential listening. the bass guitar for you is no longer the main attraction. You could woo the fans but you hold back what was once your forte. You could woo the fans and put out more music but you hold back. Why Mr. Avery, why??

Mr Farrell: the special quality of your voice you don't show it like you used to. You have a good voice but choose to make loverboy-lounge pop, liberace-crooning that turns people off. You started the pop crooning a little bit on Strays and then you did it all over the Satellite Party Ultrapayloaded. You continued the style on Thievery Corporation and even some of The Great Escape Artist tracks. The pitch is too low and Its sounds you are tired and not really into what you sing and the emphasis you place on the vocal "ooo's" is not acceptable. Did Mr. Ezrin coach you to pull this stunt? Song yet to be Sung and Good Gods Urge are good examples of your voice at its best. If you wanted to in 2016-2017 you could woo the fans but you hold back and give us far less than you are capable of. Why Mr. Farrell, why??

Mr. Perkins: You have the talent but like Mr. Avery and Mr. Farrell you settle for mediocrity. You peaked with Porno For Pyros 1993 and then Kettle Whistle 1997 but after 2003 you sound mediocre. You were once a great tribal drummer but you settled for less. Why Mr Perkins, why?

so perry came over but I was busy recording some new tracks and was attending to the mix but Perry adamant that i listened to him with my full attention. he had a really concerned look on his face. iasked him what was up and he said "the sky" and burst out into uncontrollable laughter. perry asked me if i liked what he was wearing and i looked over he had on a long sleeve button down silk floral shirt with love beaded neckless. i asked him how the music was coming and he asked me if i liked fear and loathing in las vegas? open your mind to the sound of the earth he said. whats that supposed to mean? he reached over with pursed lips and slowly moved his index finger and touched the area of my face right above and in between my brows. i felt a tingle run down my spine and he whispered in my ear he and Lee Scratch Perry had been taking bike rides in the summer of love and recorded songs together. really? i jumped up to go get a drink cause my face was flushed and he grabbed my ass.
