echoplex monday night at 11. this one is 18+ age limit. first 500 folks that register here get on a list that enables you to walk up and pay 10 bucks at the door. we wanted to do something in a proper club this time with a proper pa, stage and reasonably large room. and yes this is the largest amount of warning time that was possible. i wanted you all to know as soon as i knew. just home from rehearsal, really fucking hungry, so i want to go get me some chow, but i did want you all to know. see you there.

Eric, you rule. I NEED to catch this show. I've registered, but how will we know if we're on the list? will you post???

I registered this morning. It only asks for an email address, not my name. I, too, am wondering how I know I'm on the list.

But awesome. I'm going to the MEC at 8, then hopefully Janes at 11!

after signing up, you get the "thanks for joining" then once you receive the email it asks you to "confirm" and gives a link, which doesn't seem to do anything.

Imagine a concert with Jane´s, The Surfers and NIN ?

Only in dreams but it did happen once in 91.

I tend to agree with the statement another person made about nin cloning. When Trent takes bands under his wing he almost invariably makes them sound just like nin. Rob Halford's "TWO" and Marilyn Manson "Antichrist Superstar" are just a few examples. This could be good or bad depending on how much you like nin style and sound.

Semiramis said...

TWO "Voyeurs" (Rob Halford) produced by Trent Reznor

I think if it leads to a "darker kind of music" it would be interesting, plus Eric´s music has never been "bright and sunny" and I like that, also maybe since Jane´s is a band and the music goes through the 4 guys involved it would create a unique sound(probably what they are looking for), cause Rob Hartford (Judas Priest) and Mason decide or make the final call on what it is the sound they want for their records, also those bands( solo proyects) are much heavier in sound and much similar in that way to NIN as opposed to JA.

did mgmt give any idea when the confirmations will go out? if you strike out via the sign-up, will it be possible at all to buy the night of? Thanks.

There is now a solid body of evidence that for The Beatles, India was their most creative period. When they were in Rishikesh for several weeks in February, March and April of 1968, they wrote between 23 and 48 songs, 17 of which were included in their White Album, one of their best known.
In the ashram on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Ganges, The Beatles were busy making music, in between periods of meditation.

OMG Eric, your blog comments have been officially spammed. I think the above poster is a spammer.

And for those of us who weren't lucky enough to somehow catch the leak of the show last week, I think it's pretty much a guarantee that anyone who signed up for the mailing list this week isn't going to make the list. I signed up on Wednesday 2/11 at ~2:45pm Pacific, and I didn't make it.

What a bummer that Eric's excitement led to that inadvertent slip. It looks like someone over at http://xiola.org/ saw Eric's post before it got pulled, and posted about it on the 6th. So basically, people have been signing up for this show since last Friday. What a tremendous buzzkill.

The Beatles have been defunct for almost 40 years. We are talking about Jane's Addiction. What we may be witnessing could be Jane's Addiction most creative, fertile period. They've kept us in the dark about writing and recording since NME. Who knows maybe they flew out to Bali, Samoa or India to brainstorm songs for Trent to assist them to record. Have you been meditating with the Marharishi Yogi Eric?

Anonymous said...

If you were gonna compare Eric Avery to one of the Beatles, he most closely resembles George Harrison me thinks. George was into heady intellectual pursuits and was known as the "quiet Beatle". He wasn't a partier and didn't seek out fame, it found him. George Harrison further developed and improved as a songwriter after the Beatles separated while the other Beatles allowed their skills to decline. Eric Avery shares these characteristics

Don´t get your expectatons too high. I´m expecting some gigs and MAYBE some new songs.

That´s it and It´s good.

The Mistic is over when some of the "fans" take Iphones and wear fashion T- shirts to the gigs.

1986-1991 was Jane´s time.

They can and will make great music together or separately but it will not be the same again.

It´s 2009 and it is what it is.

the latest nin.com pic looks like rerecording "chip away"?

today was a great day for a few reasons. #1...valentine's day with my wife #2...finding out that me and my little brother both got on the list.

i was laid off from my job 3 weeks ago and i was scared to bring up a la trip to my wife. luckily we have money saved and i used airline points to go, but honestly my wife is the greatest person living. i told her that i got tickets, but was unsure if i should go...her response was "you've waited 18 years to see eric and the boys...GO"

i am a blessed man for having a great wife and am so happy that i can experience jane's addiction with my little brother. i've seen jane's 6 times, but all post eric.

this trip is a dream come true...seeing the true jane's (with eric). and even better....i have a job interview mid-week and the positive energy the show will stay carry over to the interview.

i'm going to have a smile on my face for a long time.

thanks eric, thanks perry, thanks perk, thanks dave....thank you JANE'S ADDICTION.

Now ROCK THAT SHIT ON MONDAY!!!!!!

Just stopping by to say hello and to say that I hope you have a great time during the gig -ea.

Hey There,

My wife and I received our confirmation emails last night and we both responded with our names.

Silly Question: Since we responded to the RSVP , Is there any way that we can confirm that we are indeed on the list with our names?
I just wan to be sure before I have my wife wait in line...she is under the weather but does not want to miss the show.

Anonymous said...

they all are on acid and seemingly stuck in a time loop. its 2009 guys,
your fans want new songs, NEW songs please.
we already have kettle whistle and all the old stuff.
we know reznor would like to get his hands on tracks to remix and ruin but please let him do that on his own time.
thank you.

Anonymous said...

Hey Christina Aguilera do you really think Jane´s is goona be at a studio for a remix ???

And also if you bash Reznor your insulting Jane´s cause they choose him for a reason, and probably cause they LIKE his MUSIC.

If you were old school, you´ll know that NIN, Butthole Surfers, Jane´s and many Punk-Metal bands built their following on people who were on Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Cure, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Ministry and others.

So If they look for colaboration they won´t look for Slash or Axl....back in 87 I hated Guns and loved that Jane´s was not part of that Glam corporate scene.

Oh yeah Casey is real Classic Girl.

Yea Maestro Avery! Have fun tonight. As always, cheering you on! Very proud of your work and can not wait until your new compositions pass the birthing canal.

Politely - How does one get removed from the mailing list? Only wanted to get into a show. Don't really like being on these type of mailing lists. No offense. No bitterness. Just matter of fact. The email system rejected my attempt to reply "remove".

Rock out with your sock out!

PS Good morning to Matt V. Matt - I made you a little video in responce to yours. I will post sometime soon.

Glad NIN mastermind is on board for Janes 09.
Not sure y the animosity toward Trent Reznor. Maybe its blow-back from the electronica trend? When u get fed too much of one thing u lose your taste for it I guess. Metal guys have always been attracted to dance music since they first heard White Zombie do it in 1995.

I just got an email saying they had a few more tickets for tonight, and to email them back to RSVP, Does anybody know if we will be emailed back? to confirm we are in the list?
