dave stole the intro to Cream - 'I'm So Glad' (1966) and put it in the intro to 'Oceansize' haha. listen for yourselves and you will see, the only difference is the tempo to oceansize is slower. gotcha dave. now where did Cream steal it from? haha

glad you guys played three days but the set list hasn't changed much. perry must be voting out & overriding most of the good stuff like-
kettle whistle
obvious

classic girl
of course
now i'm sure his thinking revolves around getting the greatest hits played so those who don't really follow the band as much can sing along but there are many of us who desire to hear more of the substance of janes and her deeper, more intimate side. three days was a good start please continue in this direction

The new version of Whores sounds really superb. Its funny listening to the entire free EP songs back to back, NIN and Janes have identical drum sounds, vocal efx and production values. You guys really like NIN huh? hehehe

Anonymous said...

thanks for the set list.

Anonymous said...

Man cow,
while i agree with you they are similar. identical they are not. whores has a dirty, distorted, rawer mix than the nin new songs. there is some more reverb too which i like. when you utilize the same production team you are bound to get similar sounding results and thats what they were after. i couldn't be happier after all it was free. although seeing a lengthier EP on vinyl autographed would get me off even more

The songsets Jane's are doing are ok for the $10 general admission but theres NO WAY IN HELL I'm gonna pay $100+ for decent seats when the band can't bother to play more than ten or eleven songs. Thats like $10.00 a song! I am not a fan of either of the two other acts on the bill. I'm gonna have to be content to watch youtube clips I guess.

Here I lie in my hospital bed
Tell me, sister morphine, when are you coming round again?
Oh, I don't think I can wait that long
Oh you see that I'm not that strong

The scream of the ambulance is sounding in my ears
Tell me, sister morphine, how long have I been lying here?
What am I doing in this place?
Why does the doctor have no face?

Oh, I can't crawl across the floor
Ah, Can't you see, sister morphine, I'm trying to score.

Well it just goes to show
Things are not what they seem
Please, sister morphine, turn my nightmares into dreams.
Oh can't you see I'm fading fast?
And that this shot will be my last.

Sweet cousin cocaine, lay your cool cool hands on my head
Ah come on, sister morphine, you better make up my bed
'Cause you know and I know in the morning I'll be dead
You can sit around and you can watch all the

The new recordings, while not perfect for me, are FAR superior to Ezrin's rock-radio generic crap production. We don't know how newly-written songs would be recorded anyways, or even IF they'd be recorded. Perry very recently said "I don't think so," when asked if we could expect a new album.

"Zeppelinesque"? Fuck Zeppelinesque. EZ has said in the past that he dislikes Led Zep anyways. Jane's is so much more than some "Zeppelinesque" classic rock thing, after all.

You'll have to get used to the fact that Eric, Dave, and Perry are all big fans of electronic music. (Don't know if Steve is)

There are elements I want to come back - psychedelia, post-punk and such, but we'll get what they give us, because as artists they need to do what they feel, or it'll be Strays all over again.

An interesting failure beats a middling, forced attempt to please. I'll take the risk of failure inherent in experimentation any day.

Just give me some passion and intelligence in whatever form it takes.

if you want GGU (very good album), then listen to Pete's amazing solo music, which has more in common with P4P. Maybe you've already done this, but I suggest starting with with "Soul Trigger." "Order of the Dragon" is rad too. Go to Peter's myspace and check out the new tune "The Truth Sacrifice."

Hey Eric just reading "Whores"(Perry's Book) and the episode you mention a few posts before, about Perry jumping into a bar table and kicking everything around, well it´s mention on the book it was the Lingerie Club on october 1986.

The funny thing is that no one in the book knows why Perry did that!

So thanks for the story!

The more i think about it the more I see all signs pointing to this being a cash-in tour.
-Ticket prices high to the point of gouging,
-Less than one hour sets consisting of mostly top hits
-Big name headlining act/producer to reign in the masses and ensure publicity
-No new songs.
Eric I thought you railed against Jane's getting too big and not being in it for the cash and now it seems that's what you desire

Anonymous said...

What a bunch of whining drama queens you fans are.

The band has already explained the problem with the ticket prices in great detail. Besides that, there are already ticket prices as low as $7.66-$13.66:
http://xiola.org/bored/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=13273

If you don't want to pay these prices, I suggest you wait or a tour where Jane's headlines alone. There's no guarantee that this ill happen, but it's sure to cost much less if it does.

David Lee Roth? And you point to a interminable drama thread by a depressed middle-management internet poster? You really wanna get in this guy's corner (if you're not him already?) God help you.

surfer punk, remember that this is a business. Jane's can't just go out with no record label and afford to travel around the world playing shows. It doesn't work that way. NIN is a band with which Jane's shares great mutual respect and fandom, and with whom Jane's has toured before, in a big package called Lollapalooza which was designed to get publicity and make money. These guys didn't sign with Warner Brothers so that they could be street urchins just to play music for you.

As for set length, Jane's Addiction sets have always ben brief. Add to that the fact that these have all been WARM UP SHOWS. We don't know what length the NIN/JA shows will be, or what it will look like, or what songs they'll play. It simply hasn't happened yet.

They've been writing new songs. Eric very patiently explained how difficult that process was, as did Trent. They decided to tour to help them gel. They need to rehearse songs, and that takes TIME. They are adding songs each time they play; they just added THREE DAYS.

Perry has just said "Just to get some creative juice flowing- we went into the studio for about two weeks. We had the idea to re-record two tunes, just because they'd never been done officially in the studio. And we had some fun writing some new things. A handful that are close to finished, but not quite done." And "the idea is to introduce one or two songs into this touring cycle."

Anonymous said...

Ticket prices $7.66-$13.66? LOL! For what, to pay for parking lot a mile away and listen through the walls. Don't make me laugh, I already checked the price for seats in West Palm where you can actually see the band and let me tell you they ain't cheap!

And Eric how much did Trent Reznor charge you to mix those songs? I could've gotten the same results he did in about an hour with pro tools. I would've just loaded the entire mix with the overdrive effects patch set at 90% and clipped the meters into far into red because thats what it sounds like. Noise is not good art however which way you put it

Wwhy so glum?

Some of these recent complaints seem a little bit dramatic and alarmist.

Now, I was into Jane's back in the day. One of the shows I saw had a fairly long setlist, but that was in no way the norm. The average sets weren't especially long. I mean, if you want to talk about exceptions, why not mention what may have been the longest ever?:

Halloween 1990 - Henry Fonda Theater, Los Angeles, CA

1. Up The Beach
2. Whores
3. Had A Dad
4. No One's Leaving
5. Ain't No Right
6. Ted, Just Admit It...
7. Thank You Boys
8. Standing in the Shower...Thinking
9. Three Days
10. Been Caught Stealin'
11. Bobhaus

13. Summertime Rolls
14. Stop!
15. Then She Did...
16. Mountain Song
17. Ocean Size
18. Jane Says
19. Ripple

Like I already said, these recent performances have been warm-up shows. These are not the tour shows. These guys are still practicing songs. Some need to be adapted to a lower key. This stuff takes time. Eric, for instance, hasn't played these songs for 18 years. They sound pretty goddamn sharp and tight.

There's no indication that Jane's won't play a somewhat longer set on the NIN/JA tour.

PF is on-record saying they've written new stuff and plan to play some on the NIN/JA tour.

Jane's has been adding songs to the set consistently, and I think we can expect that to continue. They just added Three Days, and they added Then She Did at the last show. They've also played songs that they'd mostly stopped playing, such as 1%, Trip Away, and No One's Leaving. Eric said right here that he wants to add "Obvious," and I bet stuff like "Summertime Rolls" will come out when summertime starts rolling.

In fact, let's take a look at what they've played. I may have missed something, but below are tunes that they've definitely played with the return of Eric. You'll see that it is most of their catalogue:

Up the Beach
Trip Away
Whores
1%
Ain't No Right
No One's Leaving
Pigs In Zen
Ted...Just Admit It
Oceansize
Had A Dad
Been Caught Stealin'
Jane Says
Mountain Song
Then She Did
Chip Away
Three Days

That leaves only these tunes from the original albums:

I Would For You
My Time
Summertime Rolls
Idiots Rule
Obvious
Of Course
Classic Girl

Only other stuff they played live more than a couple of times:

Kettle Whistle
L.A. Medley
Bobhaus

Cast-offs like Slowdivers, Maceo, City and Suffer Some were never really played beyond one or two shows.

I'd like to hear many of these unplayed songs too, and there's no reason to think that some of them will not be forthcoming. Let's just chill out and enjoy it as it slowly unfolds.

If we can't afford seats up-front, luckily we live in an age when audio and video flow instantly and freely. We're guaranteed to see and hear at least parts of every show for no charge at all. If Jane's keep having a good time (and they look like they're having a better time than they ever did back in the day), we will hopefully see something like a Jane's theatre tour in 2009-2010.

I think it's great. If some people aren't into it, that's completely cool too. You can't please everyone. Such is life.

I hope you have a fun summer, no matter what you do.

To be fair to both sides i've been lurking here for a while and alot of the posts i've read sound like older fans who are/were expecting something mellower and psychedelic or maybe acoustic based. I honestly don't think that is going to happen with Eric. The way I understand he sees Janes as being a massive wall of sound. No prettiness and thats the way he likes it so its understanable he would want the producer they got. If you don't like what they're doing now just listen to the old stuff and even some of Strays is acoustic groovin and mellow like the stoners like to hear.

From the New York Times:

"there was the Rock the Rabbit party, sponsored by Playboy and complete with tail-wearing (and –baring) bunnies, free-flowing booze, an out-of-the-way location and a rumored-about “surprise” guest, Jane’s Addiction. The reunited group took the stage around 1:30 a.m. and did a tight, lively, and, for Austin this week, long set."

eh, I'm one of the old timers who helped keep the dream alive for all these years through forums and spreading the word. PERKINS IS THE ONLY ONE LEFT WITH ANY KIND OF INSTRUMENTAL CREDIBILITY. He has never dabbled in the electronic shit. If they should start putting these gay ass synth drum loops in the new songs I am done with this band. Its over. Satellite Party shot a big hole in it by there bastardizing covers of Jane's. My last thread of hope was that Avery could take them back to somewhere around 1986-1987 when the music was pure. Now I'm not sure this will happen. Anxiously waiting their next move....

Hey man, Jane's HAS been playing in old school style, layin' it down HARD.

If you're upset about the production on Whores, I'd get over it, because according to recent quotes from Dave and Perry, there is no album coming, just one or two songs that might be played live. So we can all forget about Jane's being a shiny new creative unit, and either rock out to the old-school stylings, or not.

At least we now have a clear picture of what's going on, and we can take it or leave it.

I am a realist, and I understand that these gentlemen want to make some money. I totally support that, and I think rocking out is a much better way of making money than most other ways. However, I had hoped that we could enjoy Jane's both as a profitable touring act, and as a new creative entity. By that I mean new music - an album or albums.

So, it's bittersweet, but mostly sweet. How tremendous to see Eric out there, and these guys truly rocking out once again. The original split was a huge psychic wound to some of us for whom Jane's was a reflection and celebration of our own lives. It felt absolutely wrong. The feeling of having that rift mended is so profoundly wonderful. There's magic in it. It's a glorious, cathartic thing.

So here's to celebrating Eric's return, laying it down like an absolute monster. Incredible. The band sounds tighter and tighter. These guys are in fighting shape. And in the back of my mind, I haven't given up hope that these men, in some lucid moment, can find enough common ground to assemble a real set of new tunes with the spirit of adventure and artistic creativity that the real Jane's always embodied.

Hope springs eternal.

After NME I got really excited about the prospect of EA back in the band. The first question that ran through my mind was "How would it sound?"
I immediately thought of the best Polar Bear song, "Zulu". I imagined Perry's voice singing over the clever clean spunky rhythm guitar and bass that drives the song. I thought of a different drum beat underneath it. A drumbeat Perkins would dream up complete with all his personal touches and signature sounds.
This got me really excited because there was a new version of Zulu running through my head. I thought wow this would be really really good if Jane's Addiction did something along those lines with EA taking the lead. Others might disagree.
Time will tell.

Help Wanted is atmospheric. Its beautiful and dark. You can't say Avery doesn't like that. Its just one song wait and see what else they do. They have the final authority. They can tell Mr Reznor to make it sound however they wish. They can sound like a garage band or Floydian or 70's funk or anything they choose to emulate. Modern studios can work magic

Anonymous said...

'So we started out with the idea of maybe write something with a jagged time signature, like 5/7 or something'

Why not record something like 3 versions of the same song. One version with an odd time signature(a la radiohead), one with the funky beat and one tribal. The Stones and the Beatles used to work that way. It makes sense if your going to release them song by song instead of a full length album. This way everyone in the band can have their say and the fans can pick and choose which version they like best.

For example

Track1 Laughing Beats(avery/navarro) odd time version
Track2 Laughing Beats(farrell) funky version
Track3 Laughing Beats(perkins) tribal version

Think all this excitment about the band touring and making music(remixes) it´s great! good and bad comments come with the turf.

But that means people are paying LOTS of attention to what the result is going to be, I know its not going to be STRAYS.

The punk rocker/Joy Division/Dark music moods bass player is back.

This speculation...man, it's silly. Wait for the fucking song. You'll be lucky if you ever hear it, the way these guys operate!

Eric, I just paid a hefty sum to see you guys. Now that I am a patron of the real Jane's Addiction once again, please make some new music that's artsy and weird and beautiful.

Perry just said: "The young groups here today at SXSW, they need to come up with a nice body of work so when they go out and play a 70-minute set, everyone knows all of those songs,” he says. “But the older cats, people love the songs, you don’t have time for nine new songs. People don’t have time for nine new songs on a record, either. I look for a hot new single. In our case, Jane’s Addiction has our set."

Please. We need new material, and not just one or two scraps. You guys have a flawless catalogue, yes, but it's not very deep. Please don't worry about the music living up to the legend, just throw some crazy shit around and see what sticks. Give us some some experimentation and chaos and art, and you WILL have a following.

Jane's is like Frankenstein right now. It's ALIVE! It's up and walking around, and it's scary and powerful. That's amazing, but soon we need something more akin to the sexy vampire to reveal itself.

Anonymous said...

For those who might be interested on how the band used write songs here are various quotes that give some insight on how these used to do it in the good olde daze

And from Guitar World, 11/97...
Dave: Most of those (early) bass lines came out of jams. Eric would lock into something and then just stay there. And me and Steve and Perry would do a zillion things around it. Most of those songs were written for the bass lines.

Stephen Perkins wrote the drums and percussion to the songs. As with Dave, most of the songs had already been written prior to his joining the group. But Steve's creative drumming made the songs into the classics they are.

Eric once said, "The songs on the first two records were written by jamming, and many of the tunes started from a bass line. But Ritual was written mostly by Perry--it just came down that way, because we've been spending a lot less time in the same room together. He'd come in with a basic chord progression, humming the riffs. Then we'd get a bass line, then David would work the guitar over it. A song may be going in a certain direction, but a mistake can happen, and we'll say, 'Wait--that works better.'"

"We do different kinds of collaborations all the time," Perry said in late 1988. "A lot of the time I'll come in with something I've worked out on a guitar and I'll give it to Dave. And he'll take that and do something that a real guitarist would do to it. I frame it out and then the guys will come in and work on it. Sometimes it'll change, sometimes it won't. It's never cut and dry like, 'Here's the song. This is how you play it.'"

In '96, Dave told Phil Hayes, "...We would jam a lot in Jane's Addiction, and Perry would have the mike and be going for it the whole time, makin' shit up off of the top of his head, screaming, yelling, singing his heart out, writing poetry on the spot during rehearsals. That was another element to inspire all of us."

Some humor for you drama-queens

"The next phase in the reunited Janes Addiction 2009 there is to be 5th member, a keyboardist to permanently join.
He will be responsible for assorted pre-recorded samples and techno wizardy as well as back up vocals during the NINJA tour.
On the command of industrial rock god Trent Reznor, he will become a centerpiece of the band's reinvented sound and evolution into an industrial, trip hop electronica band.
Jane's Addiction will gradually reshape and rewrite the older songs to fit the new mold.
The plan is to eventually sack longtime drummer Perkins as they will have no need for his services once the keyboardist is accepted by the fanbase.
Just as Satellite Party has no use for a live drummer, neither will Janes Addiction.
In this hi tech age, the standard rock rules are discarded.
Acoustical drummers are going the way of the dinosaur as computers have replaced the need for their craft.
More money can be funneled into other areas instead of a veteran drummer's high salary allowance like more hi-tech software, keyboards and looping programs, lightshows and costumes.
The old fans will at first reject this new evolution vehemently.
But it won't take long, the band reasons, for them to get onboard and embrace the reinvented Janes.
They will delight in how close they sound to nine inch nails, ministry, portishead and the thievery corporation, having shed there previous identity.
This will take the band to even greater heights as MTV, NME, Rolling Stone and Spin pundits will be amazed and astonished by the brillance and innovation on display."

Who said fuck Led Zeppelin? You might as well have said fuck Jane's Addiction and Bauhaus they would not be what they are without Zep. Just listened to Led Zeppelin -How Many More Times- and the slow mid part Bauhaus(daniel ash) ripped off in Hollow Hills. I can point to many other other examples. Now I'm not sayin Zep isn't guilty of plagarism they are but they were very influential to Jane's. Perry recently said if there was any guitar player in the whole world he would like to work with he said Jimmy Page. Eric has admitted the music's kewl but said Robert Plant's lyrics about demons and wizards were stupid. So there you go.

Am I the only one who could care less about them incorporating elements of the current trends i.e. nu-metal, electro-metal, trance-metal, hip hop-metal to try and sound cutting-edge?

Am I the only one who believes they are smart enough not to need a producer for new songs?

Am I the only one who wants them to bring back instruments like violin(of course) and piano(obvious) and use nonconvential percussion instruments?

Am I the only one who believes most of them care very little about our concerns?

The new tour sampler on remix.nin.com was mainly created to get the nine inch nails listeners lured to janes. Janes already has the core following but they HAD to change the sound up to gain the respect & acceptance of nin followers. Hence the reason for the rough nin-like mix and inclusion of drum heavy chip away. But IF i was the producer, Janes would become an emo band.

SXSW review

1:37 a.m. – It wasn't really a secret that Jane's Addiction was performing tonight, just like Metallica's show Friday at Stubb's is an open secret. Like a lot of people, I'm skeptical of reunions, especially Jane's Addiction. And with good reason—they seem to reunite every few years, with middling results. That said, I'm struck by the boldness of opening with "Three Days," a slow-burner from Ritual De Lo Habitual. At the end of the song, frontman Perry Farrell puts his arms around eternally shirtless guitarist Dave Navarro and gives him a kiss. They're clearly enjoying themselves, and their enthusiasm makes the whole reunion feel much less like a crass cash-in.

1:48 a.m. – By "Ain't No Right," I have officially forgiven Farrell for the interminable Satellite Party set I endured at Lollapalooza a couple years ago. Jane's Addiction is tight, enthusiastic, and pretty fucking great. The rest of the set follows suit, with the crowd eating it up.

Strays wasn't Nothings Shocking but hey it was still pretty good. 12 long years waiting for a new album and worth it. Kettle Whistle-cd, Up the Catacombs-best of-cd, Cabinet of Curiousities-box set don't count. Those are filler for a band seemingly almost entirely bereft of flow creativity . I hope something comes of this latest go round. These guys need to go out and hang and down some beers together in the free time.

I´m Sorry to disagree but Strays as a Jane's Addiction record blows man!

Regarding the box set I' ve got most of it already, what it really sucks it's that at least the DVD could have brought a WHOLE concert of Jane´s no just a portion, you know the Palladium show of dic 1990, or a Lolla 91 date.

I think I'm gonna buy it anyway cause of the art the info.

Come on Eric write some new bass lines man ...I´ll bet since 1991 to date you have written stuff that you go "this is a Jane´s song"...use it.

J said...

The box set was conceived and put together before the NME Jane's reunion. It was in no way meant to be the output of a working band.

Jane's may or may not come through with significant new material. Some of the quotes from Perry and Dave have been a bit worrisome on this front. However, if these gentlemen were to produce new material, it would take time.

Patience will be required for the band members and their patrons alike.

"Its been just about 1 year. 0 new songs :("

Well, it's going on a year since NME, but I don't know that Jane's members had committed to doing anything for some time after that event.

As it is now, we know that there are at least a couple of new songs, we just haven't heard them.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to see some kind of real commitment to making new work. I don't buy into the one-or-two-new-songs-here-or-there philosophy. I think it's a copout.

I honestly don't want to hear new Jane's-Reznor songs. If I want to hear NIN I'll listen to NIN, not my favorite band coping their sound. If you hand a mic and acoustic guitar to Trent Reznor and steal his drum computer he would be absolutely clueless. He wouldn't be able to play a song. I don't mind they are touring together because I can skip NIN but I can't undo the damage Reznor and his cronies do to Jane's Addiction's sound + direction. Just like I couldn't undo the damage Bob Ezrin did to Strays. Even Martyn LeNoble recogized this early on and complained Jane's sound was being ruined. Look what happened to him bless his heart, Perry fired him for insubordination in the ranks. Just like LeNoble, I am sounding the alarm early on hopefully before its too late.

Nevis said...

Many fans who were disappointed with this album blame Ezrin's participation, including former Jane's Addiction bassist Martyn LeNoble, who in an interview in 2005 said the following:

I would be one of the fans that agreed Bob fucked up the sound. At one point I had a talk with him, and said "Man I'm just trying to do Jane's, and this doesn't sound like Jane's." I asked him if he had ever even listened to Ritual, and he said "I can't listen to that record because I hate the way it sounds." He said "I want Jane's to stop being an art metal band and be a world class rock band."

In 2003 the bass player was missing and the songs were not good, that's why they don´t sound art metal, whatever the fuck that means, still I don´t blame Ezrin so much for that shitty record, I blame the musicians.

Eric the band pic on Jane's.com... I know you can´t look now like hippy surfers, but come on!

They should revisit deconstruction. Reconstruct it with perk's drums and farrell's vox and infuse some more catchiness and vocal hooks. lay some vox over "iris". doing this, decon would be ritual II. better to do this rather than re-record vintage janes addiction which needs no embellishment.

Anonymous said...

"iris" is kinda like the logical progression to "up the beach" and a damn good one!

Anonymous said...

It remains to be seen how strong the new material will be and to what degree they are progressing as artists. But don't be fooled by their rhetoric intended to throw us off, they ARE writing with specific intent to release. When it will surface is anybody's guess could be years or it could be shelved like the third Porno for Pyros album- collecting dust in basement never to be heard.

Anonymous said...

1. Jane's said they are just going to release singles, which, if it happens, would be a weird thing for a band to do if they are trying to make an album. I do hope we get an album.

2. There is no completed third Porno LP. There are some songs written and some rough demo stuff. It's not like they have a finished product locked away or something.

Anonymous said...

Pete DiStefano has confirmed there are more than 12 songs written and demo'd for the 3rd P4P. He said they sound like a cross between the first and second P4P albums. I take the man at his word.

Martyn was treated in a very badly way by Perry in Porno for Pyros, it is stated that he wrote/co-wrote most of the music for the first record of Porno. But Porno For for Pyros publishing goes almost entirely to Perry.

In Jane´s Addiction (maybe this is a shock to some) the first big fight was over the publishing money

Did you know that Perry ask and got 50% from writting lyrics and 12.5% for the music leaving the rest with only 12.5% each...he fuck up his friends...or band mates.

If the guys from Jane's did not accept this in 1988 he was walking from the band, talk about blackmail.

I read all this recently on the book "Whores"...I was very disappinted to read about this cause I thought the break up was mainly from drug related issues.

Hope the money now from touring is divided in equal shares, is the right thing.

Eric wrote the guitar parts for Jane Says and Summertimes Rolls, and gave ideas to lyrics.

The Lyrics from "Had a Dad" are from an Eric's event..I did not know that..all this years I thought it was Perry's issues with his dad!

"City" is and old song that was probably writen-co writen by Eric and Perry.

"Whores" gives you pretty much a glipse of what was going on in that time.

Another shocker was that "Dave did not like Eric's voice" so that is why mainly Deconstruction did not work and not cause Eric did not want to tour.Plus Guns 'n' Roses and the Chili Peppers wanted Dave at the time.

i'm not denying there is bass guitar in polar bear. however, the DRUM (programmed) loops are the focus, they are mixed the loudest, the most active, and the dominating force in the compositions.
in the janes of old, the songs revolved around the bass guitar. bass centric.

Bangoskank,

if only your googling capabilities were matched by your reading comprehension. The songs played by Jane's, alone, were:

Ted
Whores
Stop!

The article you pointed to says this:

"During their brief time onstage, the band revisited four songs, including "Ted, Just Admit It..." from their 1988 album, “Nothing’s Shocking,” and one of the first songs they ever recorded, “Whores.” (The track was on their 1987 debut album, as well as 1997’s “Kettle Whistle,” and was recently remixed and re-released online by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor.)"

It is merely saying that Whores appeared on the Kettle Whistle compilation.

I think it was no big deal...it was his party....he probably anticipated getting really wasted and why sweat it about the lyrics while you know people are going to be posting it on youtube the next day?!

Besides...from the videos I've seen on youtube...He's only looking at them during "Sympathy for the Devil"
which has about 40 fucking verses...has anyone here ever tried to do it Karaoke?
Really; It's a tough one sober...much less when drunk & knowing it will be posted on youtube the next day for the Rolling stones fans to laugh at...

I think once you've tried "sympathy" drunk...you'll realize that it's pretty easy to just repeat one verse over & over...
usually the one I get stuck on includes "Anastasia screamed in vain"...and then it's just the "who-who" over and over.haha

come on...you've all done it...

peace

A United States of the World will have a single world currency, which will be an "earth-dollar." The euro has already converged with the dollar and should be strictly called a "euro-dollar". The single European currency is a stepping stone to a single world currency, which the Bilderberg Group anticipate will be implemented around 2015. It is intended that the world currency will be in place by what the Syndicate hope will be the last US Presidential elections of 2016, by which time the United States is to be dissolved either by treaty or executive order, with July 4, 2016 being the last Independence Day.

Will the new Jane's Addiction lyrical approach have to be "dumbed down" in order to appeal to today's youth?
Will the music have to watered down to attract the point-and-click attention spans of kids born with remote controls in their cribs?
Just ask Satellite Party
"I got my dongle back."

lhr,

You're right man, a lot of bitches complaining!

Perry was wasted, so fucking big deal!

Did you really think he could forget the lyrics to Stop!

By the way Jane's is over with Eric as we knew it...this is a new era...Perry is 50 he can not sing like when he was in his 30's so expect nothing and enjoy the moment!

Now THAT is a clumsy trolling attempt. Not that that kind doesn't work, because it does.

Happy Wednesday everybody!

Bangoskank, what's it feel like to have been wrong with every single thing you argued? I mean, from hear it really makes you look like kind of an ass. It would have made you look good to say "whoops, I made a mistake," but in your wrongness, you actually became prideful and blind to your own folly.

I'm going to venture a guess that this is not the first time you've made a gigantic ass out of yourself.

look man, I hardly think this blog is about people going back and forth and trying to one up eachother. I misread an article, my bad (for the second time), it was an easy mistake. What I'm thinking is funny is this "we" you're speaking about that already knew the deal with Perry's show. Why no mention? Could you have pointed it out w/out judging my reading ability (by that token your use of "hear" should've been "here")? I saw this article and frequent EA's blog and didn't see it mentioned and figured I'd mention it. The article said 4 songs were played (with no mention of a group song), four songs were mentioned (sorry, Kettle Whistle is a song to me, not an album) and I made a mistake, not the end of the world. If I made a "gigantic ass" of myself it seems that only you have noticed. Wonder why? Wanker.

The broad plan now is to turn the United Nations into a world government by splitting the world into three great regions for the administrative convenience of a world government. These regions reflect the 1973 Trilateral Commission's original focus on North America, Western Europe, and Japan. The American, European, and Asian-Pacific Unions thus defined will collectively form one world union: a United States of the World. The three regions coincide broadly with the three blocs Orwell forsaw in 1984.(He called the Asia-Pacific Union Oceania.)

The 3 world regions

1. An American Union of all countries in North, Central, and South America.
2. An expanded European Union, which will include Russia, the former Soviet republics, the Middle East, and Africa. The African Union was inaugurated in July 2002.
3. An Asian-Pacific Union, which will eventually include Japan, Australia, Soth and South-East Asia, and China. This region is already bound together as APEC. Seven nations including India and Pakistan are bound together as SAFTA. It is moving towards an Asian Economic Community.

Bangoskank, yes I made a typo with regards to hear/here. However, typos are not issues. The issue was that you twice attempted to correct me with regards to information about the Vegas birthday show, when in fact I was correct and you were mistaken, both times. In your attempts at correction, you were prideful and rude. One example is that you said "looks like something else got by you," when, in fact, nothing had gotten by me. That seems like a very strange thing to say in that situation.

BTW, the "we" I spoke of is in reference to several of the main websites devoted to Jane's Addiction and it's members, and other affiliated individuals. These are the places where people get their news and media relating to Jane's Addiction.

That's it.
